Terms of Service

Welcome to Fartlec ("Platform," "we," "us," or "our"). Fartlec is an online platform that connects running event organizers with participants worldwide. By accessing or using our Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Platform.

Platform — the Fartlec website, mobile applications, and related services.
User — any individual who accesses or uses the Platform.
Participant — a User who registers for one or more events through the Platform.
Organizer — a User or organization that creates and manages events on the Platform.
Event — a running race, challenge, or similar athletic activity listed on the Platform.
Registration — the process by which a Participant signs up for an Event and completes payment.

To use the Platform, you must:
Be at least 16 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher).
Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
Provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.

By using the Platform, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.

5.1 Creating an AccountYou must create an account to register for events or list events as an Organizer. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to update it as necessary.

5.2 Account SecurityYou are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You agree to notify us immediately at support@fartlec.com if you suspect any unauthorized access to your account. We are not liable for any losses resulting from unauthorized use of your account.

5.3 One Account per PersonEach individual may maintain only one personal account. Organizations may have separate accounts but must use accurate organizational information.

6.1 Prohibited ActivitiesYou agree not to:
Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose.
Post false, misleading, or fraudulent event listings.
Attempt to circumvent any payment, registration, or security mechanism.
Scrape, copy, or redistribute Platform content without written permission.
Harass, threaten, or abuse other users.
Use the Platform to distribute spam or unsolicited communications.
Impersonate any person or organization.

6.2 Event ParticipationParticipants acknowledge that running events involve physical activity and inherent risks. You are responsible for assessing your own fitness and health before registering for and participating in any event. We strongly recommend consulting a medical professional before participating in endurance events.

7.1 Registration FeesEvent registration fees are set by Organizers. Fartlec displays these fees clearly before you complete your registration. All prices are shown inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.

7.2 Platform Service FeeFartlec may charge a service fee on top of the registration fee to cover platform costs. This fee, if applicable, will be clearly shown during checkout.

7.3 Payment ProcessingPayments are processed through our third-party payment partners. By completing a payment, you agree to their terms and conditions. We do not store your full payment card details.

7.4 CurrencyEvents may be priced in different currencies depending on the Organizer's location. The currency displayed at checkout is the currency in which you will be charged. Currency conversion fees, if any, are charged by your bank or payment provider.

Organizers who list events on the Platform agree to:
Provide accurate event information, including date, location, distances, and pricing.
Honor all accepted registrations.
Communicate material changes to registered participants promptly.
Comply with all applicable laws and regulations for organizing public events.
Obtain all necessary permits and insurance for their events.

Organizers are fully responsible for the conduct and safety of their events. Fartlec is not a co-organizer and bears no responsibility for the events themselves.

10.1 Our ContentAll content on the Platform — including logos, design, text, and software — is owned by or licensed to Fartlec and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute our content without written permission.

10.2 Your ContentBy posting content (e.g., event descriptions, photos, reviews) on the Platform, you grant Fartlec a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content for the purpose of operating the Platform.
You represent that you own or have the right to share any content you post, and that it does not infringe third-party rights.

11.1 No WarrantyThe Platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee the accuracy of event listings or that the Platform will be uninterrupted or error-free.

11.2 Limitation of LiabilityTo the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Fartlec shall not be liable for:
Personal injury or death arising from participation in events.
Event cancellations, postponements, or modifications by Organizers.
Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Platform.
Loss of data, revenue, or profits.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the three (3) months preceding the claim.

11.3 IndemnificationYou agree to indemnify and hold Fartlec harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

14.1 By YouYou may close your account at any time by contacting us at support@fartlec.com. Closing your account does not cancel pending registrations or affect existing payment obligations.

14.2 By UsWe reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if we believe you have violated these Terms or if required by law, without prior notice.
